Forgive my ignorance but is the 4th letter an absolute must or is it up the coach? Don't most teams usually run with a C and 2 A's?

Ruff used to use home alternates and away alternates, if I'm not mistaken

Wow i didn't realize this. LOL Just like last year it's never good to start a season looking uphill. I personally dont want to see a tank but there's a real good chance we could start 5-16 or 6-15

I concur. 2 brand new guys and a guy they just traded for last year.

I agree the C will go to Gionta (though I still hate giving it to someone not home-grown, but with this roster what can you do). I don't like the lack of home grown assistants though. Stafford or Myers will probably get one, IMO (or Ennis).

You're not the only one doing it, so don't take it personally, but you can't have 3 As as a regular thing.

From the NHL rules:
Only when the Captain is not in uniform, the Coach shall have the right to designate three Alternate Captains. This must be done prior to the start of the game.

Not sure where the 1C 3A stuff has come from lately. I hope to hell they're not going to alternate anymore. "If you have more than one captain, you have none" kind of applies to too many assistants IMO
